TLDR Strawberry water-extract may boost hair cell metabolism.
The study explored the potential hair growth-promoting properties of strawberry water-extract on human follicle dermal papilla cells (HFDPC) by measuring dehydrogenase activity and assessing hair growth-related gene expression. The findings showed that strawberry water-extract enhances the metabolism of HFDPC, although this effect diminishes with heat treatment. Despite no significant changes in the expression of hair growth-related genes (FGF7, VCAN, and TGFB2), the study suggests that strawberry water-extract could be a basis for developing hair-care cosmetics, warranting further investigation into its active components and mechanisms.
