TLDR The anesthesia protocol with fentanyl and propofol caused the least pain during septoplasty.
The study aimed to compare the quality of anesthesia methods used in septoplasty in Moscow clinics. It involved 164 patients divided into three groups, each receiving different anesthesia protocols. Group 1 received premedication with promedol, group 2 received a combination including fentanyl and propofol, and group 3 received atracuria besylate and other agents. Pain was assessed at various intervals post-surgery. Results indicated that group 2 experienced less pain at most stages, except on the 2nd day, while group 3 had higher pain levels after 24 hours. The conclusion suggested that the anesthesia protocol used in group 3, which included fentanyl and propofol, provoked the least painful reaction during septoplasty. Additionally, it was recommended that nasal tampons be removed 48 hours post-operation.
