This study investigated the effect of 10% calcium gluconate on the activation of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and its impact on the expression of platelet-derived growth factor-BB (PDGF-BB) using different centrifugation methods. Conducted in vitro with 11 blood samples, the study compared simple centrifugation (900g for 7 minutes) and double centrifugation (900g for 7 minutes followed by 1500g for 15 minutes). Results showed that simple centrifugation with calcium gluconate significantly increased PDGF-BB release (842.7 ± 4.0) compared to other methods, suggesting that this approach may enhance PRP preparation for clinical applications.
