TLDR The journal has grown significantly and is expected to continue succeeding under new leadership.
The Indian Journal of Plastic Surgery (IJPS) has experienced significant growth and transformation over the past decade under Editor Dinesh Kadam, including rebranding with Thieme Publishers, introducing e-First articles, and achieving its first impact factor in 2022. The digitization of archives since 1968 has enhanced its historical significance, and despite financial challenges, the journal has maintained a Diamond Open Access model. Innovations such as involving postgraduate residents in the editorial process and expanding social media outreach have contributed to its development. The outgoing editor is confident that the new team, led by Prof. Maneesh Singhal, will continue this trajectory of success.
