TLDR The adhesive quickly stops bleeding and repairs wounds in wet conditions.
The study presents a biodegradable supramolecular tissue adhesive that achieves robust instant adhesion to wet tissue surfaces within 5 seconds, overcoming challenges in dynamic, wet, or hemorrhagic environments. The adhesive's effectiveness is attributed to the synergy of surface-rich adhesive groups and a hydrophobic main chain, which allows it to penetrate the hydration layer on tissues. In vivo experiments using rat liver incision and skin injury models demonstrate its potential for emergency hemostasis and wound management, highlighting its promise for surgical applications and urgent clinical scenarios.
