The analysis of 514 hair-loss clinical trials from 2015 to 2025 shows an increase in trial registrations, particularly after 2020, with a focus on androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata. Most trials are concentrated in North America and involve pharmacologic therapies. The study highlights the need for standardized outcome measures and broader population representation, as current trials often have fewer than 100 participants and lack diversity, which limits the generalizability of findings. It also notes the importance of aligning research efforts with clinical needs and improving reporting practices to enhance the applicability of results in treating hair-loss disorders.
