TLDR Nanotechnology therapies can help improve quality of life for those with hair loss.
The document reviewed the impact of alopecia, a chronic inflammatory and autoimmune disorder causing hair loss, on quality of life and explored nanotechnology-based therapies. Alopecia affects both the scalp and sometimes other body parts, with significant aesthetic and psychological implications despite not being life-threatening. In India, a substantial number of individuals, particularly under 20, experienced hereditary hair loss, with men more frequently affected than women. The review highlighted that factors like aging, pollution, and stress could exacerbate hair loss, while temporary loss might occur due to menopause or pregnancy. The paper also discussed the potential of nanotechnology in drug delivery systems to address alopecia and improve patients' quality of life.
