A Research on "Gel Formulation Advancement for Treatment of Beard and Scalp Fungal Infections"

The study focuses on developing a nanohydrogel formulation to treat scalp and beard fungal infections, which are often linked to hair loss. The formulation incorporates itraconazole and mometasone nanoparticles, optimized for properties like viscosity and drug release. The gel demonstrated effective antifungal activity, with zones of inhibition measuring 23.30 mm for Tinea Capitis and 30.10 mm for Tinea barbae. The research suggests that this nano-hydrogel system offers superior efficacy, long-term effectiveness, and improved patient acceptability at lower dosages with fewer side effects compared to conventional treatments.
