October 2025 in “Lithuanian University of Health Sciences” The study conducted in the Šiauliai District of Lithuania aimed to evaluate ethnopharmaceutical knowledge related to skin diseases and cosmetic uses. Through interviews with 36 respondents, 81 plant species from 46 families were identified for their dermatological and cosmetic applications. Commonly used plants included Aloe vera, Plantago major, and Calendula officinalis, with preparations such as infusions and topical applications being popular. These plants were primarily used to treat wounds, skin inflammations, and hair loss, among other conditions. The findings highlight the continued use of traditional plant-based remedies in the region and suggest potential for developing eco-friendly cosmetic and pharmaceutical products.
