TLDR Improper vitamin use after bariatric surgery can cause acne.
This case report highlights the risk of dermatologic issues, such as acne, due to inappropriate vitamin supplementation in post-bariatric surgery patients. A 45-year-old female developed acne after using a multivitamin with provitamin A and high vitamin B1, alongside a "hair-growth" supplement rich in vitamin B6, leading to overlapping supplementation. The acne resolved after switching to an appropriate multivitamin regimen. The study underscores the importance of monitoring and educating bariatric patients on proper vitamin use to prevent complications, emphasizing the role of healthcare professionals in managing nutrient imbalances.
