ACOS23O-001: Using Autologous Human Hair Follicular Stem Cells for Male Pattern Hair Loss (MPHL) & Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL) in Asian Populations

TLDR Using one's own hair stem cells can improve hair density in Asian individuals with hair loss.
The study explores the use of autologous human hair follicular stem cells (HFSCs) for treating Male Pattern Hair Loss (MPHL) and Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL) in Asian populations. It highlights a novel method of isolating these stem cells from hair follicles through mechanical centrifugation of punch biopsy samples, without requiring culture conditions. The stem cells, derived from the hair bulge, have shown potential in enhancing hair density in patients with MPHL (Norwood-Hamilton stages 2-5), FPHL (Ludwig stages 1-3), and some cases of Alopecia Areata. This approach demonstrates promise in improving hair density for individuals affected by Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA).
