TLDR MSC-CM can boost skin cell growth and movement, aiding skin repair.
This study investigated the effects of conditioned medium from human adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC-CM) on keratinocytes, specifically focusing on cell migration and morphology. The MSC-CM was found to enhance keratinocyte proliferation and migration, as well as induce changes in cell morphology, such as increased actin stress fibers and filopodia protrusions. The modulation of keratinocyte dynamics was partly attributed to TGF-β1 signaling, as blocking this pathway significantly reduced cell migration. These findings highlight the potential of MSCs in promoting skin repair and their role in dermal regeneration therapies.
