Adipose Stem Cell-Derived Exosomes in the Treatment of Wound Healing in Preclinical Animal Models: A Meta-Analysis

    This meta-analysis evaluates the efficacy of adipose stem cell-derived exosomes (ADSC-Exos) in wound healing using data from 19 studies involving 356 animals. The results indicate that ADSC-Exos significantly enhance wound healing rates, particularly in general wounds, by improving blood vessel density, collagen deposition, and wound re-epithelization. However, the therapy was less effective in diabetic wounds by day 7, though improvements were noted by day 14. The findings suggest that ADSC-Exos could be a promising treatment for enhancing wound healing, promoting neovascularization, and reducing scar formation, with potential for clinical application. Further research is needed to confirm these findings and develop clinical guidelines.
