TLDR Natural plant products like Proanthocyanidins and curcumin may help treat ischemic stroke by reducing inflammation.
This review highlights the role of the NLRP3 inflammasome in ischemic stroke and its potential as a therapeutic target due to its involvement in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. It discusses the signaling pathways and mechanisms of NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated inflammation and explores the regulatory effects of various natural plant products, such as Proanthocyanidins and curcumin, on this process. These plant products may help modulate the NLRP3 inflammasome and reduce inflammatory cytokine release, offering new insights for preventing and treating cerebral ischemia and reperfusion injury.
