TLDR Alpha linolenic acid and linoleic acid help treat inflammatory skin conditions in dogs.
This document discusses the importance of essential fatty acids, specifically alpha linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid (LA), in the treatment of canine dermatoses. These fatty acids have anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties that can help manage inflammatory skin conditions in dogs, such as food allergies, parasitic infestations, and atopic dermatitis. The study aims to address the lack of research on skin diseases in dogs due to deficiencies in ALA and LA in the North-eastern region of India by recording the incidence of dermatoses in canine cases at the Veterinary Clinical Complex.
