TLDR Early diagnosis and personalized treatment can lead to significant hair regrowth in children with alopecia areata.
This case report discusses an 11-year-old female patient with alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder causing non-scarring hair loss. The patient had multiple alopecic patches on the scalp, confirmed by a positive pull test. Treatment with systemic immunosuppressants, such as cyclosporine and methylprednisolone, resulted in significant hair regrowth over three months. The report emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis and personalized treatment for achieving the best outcomes in pediatric alopecia areata cases.
