TLDR CAG repeat length in the AR gene is not linked to PCOS risk in Iranian women.
This study investigated the correlation between the length of CAG repeats in the androgen receptor (AR) gene and the risk of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in an Iranian female population. Involving 51 women with PCOS and 58 healthy controls, the research found no significant difference in the average CAG repeat length between the two groups. Although minor differences in allele distribution were noted, they were not statistically significant. The study concludes that there is no significant association between CAG repeat length in the AR gene and PCOS risk in this population, suggesting the need for further research with larger sample sizes.
