Evaluation of Androgen Receptor Expression and Its Association with Clinicopathological Features in Iraqi Women with Breast Cancer

Noor Sabeeh, Zainab M. Hashim, Furat Y. Mohsen
This study investigated androgen receptor (AR) expression in 96 Iraqi women newly diagnosed with breast cancer, finding that 65.6% were AR-positive. Despite this high expression, no significant association was found between AR expression and clinicopathological factors such as age, tumor size, lymph node involvement, and molecular markers like ER, PR, and HER2. The results suggest that AR has limited prognostic value in this population, although its high expression warrants further research into its biological significance and potential as a therapeutic target in certain breast cancer subtypes.
