TLDR Microneedling with PRP effectively improved hair growth and thickness in androgenic alopecia without side effects.
A 40-year-old Arab male with androgenic alopecia, classified as Hamilton–Norwood stage III vertex, underwent four sessions of microneedling combined with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy at four-week intervals. The PRP was derived from 10 mL of venous blood, yielding 5 mL of platelet-rich plasma applied topically post-microneedling. The treatment resulted in increased hair density, reduced balding area, and improved thickness of terminal hair, with the patient reporting subjective satisfaction and no side effects. This case suggests that microneedling-PRP therapy is an effective clinical option for androgenic alopecia, offering an alternative for those seeking to avoid long-term pharmacotherapy.
