TLDR The ointment with banana peel extract has antibacterial properties but needs improvement.
The study focused on formulating an ointment using the ethanolic extract of unripe Musa paradisiaca peels, known for their various pharmacological properties, including antibacterial activity. The ointment was evaluated for its organoleptic properties and antibacterial effectiveness against S. aureus and E. coli. While the commercial product demonstrated the highest antibacterial activity, the M. paradisiaca extract itself showed greater activity than the formulated ointment. The research concluded that the formulation was successful, and the herbal products exhibited significant antibacterial activities, though further strategies could enhance these effects.
