TLDR Argan oil complexes improve hair treatment by enhancing stability, antibacterial properties, and hair texture.
Inclusion complexes of argan oil with β-CD were prepared using evaporation and coprecipitation methods to enhance the stability and usability of hydrophobic oils in hair treatments. The encapsulation efficiencies were 68.4% and 51.2% for the respective methods. The resulting hair treatment formulation showed antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and provided a uniform coating on hair fibers. Mechanical performance was improved, with texture profile analysis indicating positive contributions to hardness, fracturability, adhesiveness, springiness, and cohesiveness. Additionally, smoother surface morphology and improved structural durability of bleached hair were observed, suggesting that β-CD-based inclusion complexes of argan oil are effective and stable for cosmetic applications.
