Aspects of Geriatric-Tourism, Different from Third Age Tourism and Its Relationship with Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation and Thermal Treatments

    The study analyzed geriatric tourism in Turkey using data from digital and social media, revealing that geriatric tourists primarily sought thermal treatments, PMR, and hair transplantation. These tourists mainly came from the Middle East, Europe, Turkic Republics, and CIS countries, favoring large cities like İzmir, Ankara, Istanbul, Antalya, and Bursa. Their motivations included cost, thermal resources, medical service quality, and additional touristic opportunities. Social media content on this topic was predominantly shared by travel agencies and health institutions. Ethics approval was obtained from Izmir Katip Çelebi University.
