This study investigated the serum levels of interleukin-17A and interleukin-2 in 40 patients with alopecia areata compared to 40 healthy controls. The results showed that patients with alopecia areata had significantly higher levels of IL-17A and IL-2 than the healthy group. However, these elevated interleukin levels did not show a statistically significant association with the severity or duration of the disease. The findings suggest that IL-17A and IL-2 are strongly linked to alopecia areata and may play a crucial role in its progression.
