TLDR Recognizing unusual patterns of hair loss helps dermatologists diagnose and manage Alopecia Areata better.
This case series identifies three atypical morphological patterns of Alopecia Areata (AA) that differ from the classic forms: the central sparing pattern, the paw pattern, and the punctate pattern. These patterns were confirmed through trichoscopic and histopathologic features. The study emphasizes the importance of recognizing these unusual patterns to assist dermatologists in the accurate diagnosis and management of AA.
