TLDR Baricitinib improves quality of life and reduces anxiety and depression in severe alopecia areata patients.
The study investigates the impact of baricitinib on health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and symptoms of anxiety and depression in patients with severe alopecia areata (AA) who achieved sustained scalp hair regrowth. Baricitinib, a medication used in the treatment, showed positive effects on improving HRQOL and reducing anxiety and depression symptoms in these patients. The findings suggest that continuous treatment with baricitinib can lead to significant improvements in both physical and mental well-being for individuals suffering from severe AA.
