The study presents a bioinspired antibacterial-antioxidant hydrogel (BD@HH6) designed to address chronic wound infections by synchronizing antimicrobial action with microenvironmental regulation. This hydrogel, created through photopolymerization and functionalized for controlled bFGF delivery, exhibits rapid gelation, strong tissue adhesion, and multifunctional properties such as conductivity and antioxidant activity. It effectively combats a broad spectrum of microbes and reduces oxidative damage by scavenging ROS and promoting M2 macrophage polarization. In murine models, BD@HH6 accelerated wound closure through mechanisms like angiogenesis, re-epithelialization, ECM remodeling, and hair follicle regeneration, offering a promising alternative to antibiotic-dependent treatments by integrating infection control with regenerative repair.
