TLDR Combining baricitinib with golimumab helped regrow hair in a patient with ankylosing spondylitis and alopecia areata.
This case report discusses a patient with ankylosing spondylitis who developed alopecia areata after severe emotional stress while on biological therapy with golimumab. Despite using various corticosteroids, the patient's hair loss did not improve. A decision was made to combine baricitinib with golimumab, and after 8 months, hair regrowth was observed. There is currently no standard recommendation for this combination therapy in treating ankylosing spondylitis with alopecia areata, but the patient has experienced no adverse effects so far.
