TLDR The BIOMAP glossary standardizes data to improve research on atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.
The BIOMarkers in Atopic Dermatitis and Psoriasis (BIOMAP) project was a European consortium focused on advancing personalized medicine for atopic dermatitis and psoriasis by identifying predictive biomarkers. It involved over 60 studies, including clinical trials and disease registries, to facilitate cross-cohort analyses. The project aimed to harmonize data from these studies to improve comparability and enable meaningful clinical conclusions. A BIOMAP glossary was developed to standardize variables across studies, inspired by the OMOP Common Data Model, and was intended to aid future research by aligning new studies with its clinical variables. The glossary was finalized through collaborative efforts and iterative discussions, ensuring accurate data harmonization and creating a resource for multiomic profiling.
