TLDR Lower levels of MYLK and CALD1 in bladder cancer and osteosarcoma are linked to worse survival rates.
The study investigates the roles of Myosin light chain kinase (MYLK) and caldesmon (CALD1) as biomarkers in bladder cancer and osteosarcoma, identifying their low expression as linked to worsened prognosis and suggesting their involvement in tumor growth and treatment resistance. Using bioinformatics techniques, 54 differentially expressed genes common to both cancers were identified, and functional enrichment analyses were conducted. The study highlights MYLK's role in tumor cell migration and invasion, and CALD1's involvement in reshaping the tumor microenvironment, with implications for cancer diagnosis and treatment. Despite promising findings, the study notes limitations due to the lack of in vivo experiments for further validation.
