TLDR Blumea eriantha DC. shows promise for medicinal use due to its various health benefits.
Blumea eriantha DC., a plant from the Asteraceae family, is gaining attention for its pharmacological activities and potential medicinal uses. Traditionally used in Indian ethnomedicine, it has been scientifically validated for antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antibacterial, and larvicidal activities due to its phytochemicals like flavonoids and essential oils. Methanolic extracts and essential oils have shown cytotoxic effects on cancer cell lines, wound healing, and angiogenesis inhibition. Recent studies also highlight its role in synthesizing nanoparticles that promote hair growth and induce apoptosis in cancer cells. However, further research is needed to understand its mechanisms, achieve clinical validation, and standardize its bioactive compounds.
