TLDR Bone marrow stem cells from Guizhou miniature pigs can grow well and become different cell types, useful for tissue engineering.
This study investigated the isolation, culture, and differentiation potential of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) from Guizhou miniature pigs. Using the whole bone marrow adhesion method, BMSCs were successfully cultured, showing good growth characteristics with 90% confluence in 5-6 days. RT-PCR analysis confirmed the positive expression of cell surface markers CD29, CD44, CD71, CD73, and CD90, and negative expression of CD31 and CD34. The cells demonstrated the ability to differentiate into adipocytes and osteoblasts, as evidenced by oil red O and alizarine red staining. The findings suggest that these BMSCs have stable growth and multidirectional differentiation potential, making them suitable seed cells for tissue engineering.
