TLDR BIMA grafting can be safely done in females with careful preparation.
This case report discusses the successful treatment of a young diabetic female patient using Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) with bilateral mammary artery grafting, a procedure that can pose sternal complications, especially in women. Despite these risks, the patient experienced no complications and remains symptom-free months after the procedure. This is noted as the first reported case of Bilateral Internal Mammary Artery (BIMA) grafting in a female at the authors' institute. The report concludes that with careful preparation, BIMA grafting can be safely performed in females, considering potential sternal healing issues.
