TLDR COVID-19 vaccines can cause mild to moderate skin reactions, mostly after the first dose.
The study reported a series of 18 cutaneous adverse drug reactions (CADRs) following COVID-19 vaccination, primarily with the Covishield vaccine. The reactions included acute urticaria, pityriasis rosea, leukocytoclastic vasculitis, herpes zoster, exacerbation of psoriasis and eczema, reactivation of herpes simplex virus 1, and COVID arm. These reactions occurred between 6 hours and 20 days post-vaccination and were mostly mild to moderate, with only 1 case requiring hospitalization. The majority of CADRs were associated with the first dose of the vaccine. The findings highlighted the importance of healthcare professionals being aware of these potential adverse effects to manage them effectively.
