TLDR Coffee bomb shampoo has more caffeine after 7 days than commercial products.
This study examines the extraction of caffeine by adding coffee grounds to neutral shampoo, a practice known as "coffee bomb shampoo." The research aimed to quantify the caffeine content extracted over time and assess the impact of shampoo components on extraction efficiency. Samples were prepared with ground coffee and neutral shampoo and analyzed over two months using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Results showed that the maximum caffeine concentration occurs after 7 days, surpassing levels found in commercial products. The study highlights its analytical relevance and potential application in educational settings to engage students in experimental planning within a real-world context.
