TLDR Calcium Hydroxylapatite may help skin regeneration and improve skin appearance.
This systematic review analyzed 12 studies on the skin-regeneration mechanisms of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA), a dermal filler used in aesthetic medicine. The review found that CaHA is associated with increased cell proliferation, collagen production, angiogenesis, and the formation of elastic fibers and elastin. However, the evidence on other mechanisms is limited and inconclusive. Most studies had methodological limitations, and only seven included a control group. Despite these limitations, the findings suggest that CaHA may contribute to skin regeneration, volume enhancement, and contouring.
