Carboxytherapy in Androgenetic Alopecia: Hype or Hope?

This study investigated the effects of adding carboxytherapy to standard treatments for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 46 male patients aged 18–50 years. The intervention group received topical minoxidil 5%, oral finasteride 1 mg, and carboxytherapy, while the control group received only the topical and oral treatments. Over 12 weeks, the intervention group underwent six carboxytherapy sessions. Results at 24 weeks post-treatment showed that both groups experienced significant improvements in patient satisfaction and photography-dermoscopy scores. However, the group receiving carboxytherapy demonstrated significantly higher scores (p = 0.006), indicating that carboxytherapy enhances the effectiveness of standard AGA treatments.
