    The study addressed the challenge of chronic wounds and inflammation by developing a catechol-chitosan/polyacrylamide hydrogel wound dressing. This dressing aimed to improve upon ordinary medical gauze, which had limited effects on chronic wounds. The hydrogel incorporated polyacrylamide to enhance mechanical properties and used cystamine and N, N'-Bis(acryloyl)cystamine for redox-responsive capabilities. Additionally, pH-responsive nanoparticles loaded with Resolvin E1 (RvE1) were included to intelligently release drugs in response to the chronic inflammation microenvironment. The hydrogel promoted cell adhesion and regulated inflammation, offering a promising approach for treating chronic wounds with improved biocompatibility and mechanical strength.
