Formulation of Hair Gel from Celery Ethanol Extract (Apium Graveolens L.)

The study aimed to create a hair gel using celery (Apium graveolens L.) ethanol extract to stimulate hair growth, testing three different concentrations: 5%, 7.5%, and 10%. The research involved preparing the extract, formulating the gel, and evaluating its characteristics, including organoleptic properties, homogeneity, spreadability, pH, irritation, freeze-thaw stability, and user preference. Results indicated that the 5% (Formula 1) and 7.5% (Formula 2) concentrations met the standard parameters for hair gel preparations, while the 10% concentration (Formula 3) failed the spreadability test. Higher extract concentrations resulted in a darker color but did not significantly affect the gel's spreadability. Formula 1 (5%) was concluded to have the best characteristics for a hair gel preparation.
