This study assessed chemotherapy use and adverse effects in 41 adult lung cancer patients at a hospital in Surabaya, Indonesia, finding that all chemotherapy regimens were appropriate per treatment guidelines. Most patients (87.80%) received first-line chemotherapy, with pemetrexed-cisplatin and pemetrexed-carboplatin being the most common regimens. Adverse effects were prevalent, affecting 61.11% of first-line and 60% of second-line chemotherapy patients. Anemia was the most frequent delayed adverse effect in first-line therapy, while hair loss was most common in second-line therapy. The study emphasizes the importance of managing chemotherapy-related adverse effects to enhance treatment outcomes.
