TLDR Clouston syndrome causes issues with teeth, hair, nails, and skin, and has no cure, but recognition has improved.
Clouston syndrome, a rare autosomal-dominant disorder, was characterized by defects in teeth, hair, nails, and sweat glands, with an estimated frequency of 7 per 10,000 births. It was identified by palmoplantar keratoderma, alopecia, and nail dystrophy. There was no treatment available, and management was supportive. The prognosis improved over time due to better recognition. The report detailed a 3-year-old child with nail abnormalities and painful thickening and fissuring of palmoplantar skin.
