TLDR A fungal skin infection was successfully treated with medication and compression therapy.
A 72-year-old Portuguese woman with immunosuppression and dysregulated diabetes developed painful erythematous lesions and oozing nodules on her right lower leg and foot. Scedosporium apiospermum was identified as the cause. The condition, cutaneous scedosporiosis, was successfully treated with voriconazole and intermittent pneumatic compression.
