Burn injuries can lead to long-term issues such as pruritus, dyspigmentation, and malignancies, affecting quality of life. Pruritus affects 93% of survivors at discharge and can persist for years, with treatments like lemon balm tea, topical doxepin, and gabapentin showing varying effectiveness. Dyspigmentation, common in 83.7% of survivors, is influenced by burn depth and skin tone, with treatments including topical agents and laser therapies. Marjolin's ulcers, a type of malignancy, can develop in chronic wounds and require careful monitoring. Despite available treatments, a standardized management algorithm is lacking, necessitating individualized care plans.
