Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma With Lymph Node Metastasis In An Adult Addax (Addax Nasomaculatus)

TLDR An addax had skin cancer that spread to lymph nodes and was euthanized.
A 13-year-old male addax (Addax nasomaculatus) exhibited symptoms of alopecia, erythema, and skin thickening, leading to a diagnosis of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma through histopathology and immunohistochemical staining. The animal was euthanized 3 years later due to poor body condition, chronic dental disease, and lymphoma spread to other skin areas. Postmortem analysis confirmed metastasis to multiple lymph nodes but no other organs. Serologic tests showed no exposure to bovine leukemia virus (BLV). This case was notable as the first report of cutaneous lymphoma in a nondomestic bovid.
