TLDR The dog's skin condition and worm infection improved with a combination of candlenut oil and other treatments.
This case report describes the successful treatment of dermatitis and Ancylostoma spp. infection in a 1-year-old mixed-breed female dog. The dog presented with symptoms such as generalized alopecia, pruritus, erythema, and scaling. Diagnosis was confirmed through clinical examination, skin and fecal tests, and blood analysis, which showed Ancylostoma spp. eggs and lymphocytosis. The treatment regimen included pyrantel pamoate, chlorpheniramine maleate, vitamin B-complex, and topical candlenut oil. After 14 days, the dog exhibited significant improvement, including new hair growth and a negative stool test for worm eggs. This suggests that the combination therapy is an effective natural treatment for dermatitis and Ancylostoma spp. infection, with a favorable prognosis and no severe systemic complications.
