TLDR Adolescents often face skin issues like acne and dermatitis due to various factors, affecting their quality of life.
During adolescence, significant skin changes occurred due to hormonal, immunological, psychological, and psychosocial factors, leading to frequent consultations with specialists. Common dermatoses included acne, affecting over 90% of adolescents, seborrheic dermatitis, non-scarring alopecia, hyperhidrosis, and dishidrosis. Additionally, complications from body art, such as tattoos and piercings, increased in this age group. These conditions were important for general practitioners and specialists to understand, as adolescents were psychologically vulnerable, and these diseases negatively impacted their quality of life. Infectious skin diseases were discussed separately.
