Dermoscopic Evaluation of Alopecia Areata Before and After Treatment With Topical Corticosteroids

This study evaluated the dermoscopic features of alopecia areata in 15 patients treated with topical corticosteroids for three months. Results showed a significant reduction in activity signs like black dots and broken hairs, and an increase in regrowth features such as vellus and terminal hairs. The study concludes that dermoscopy is a valuable tool for assessing disease activity and treatment response in alopecia areata, with topical corticosteroids demonstrating significant improvement.
