TLDR CO₂ laser surgery successfully healed a dog's chronic paw condition.
An 8-year-old male dog with chronic pododermatitis and pseudopads on all four paws underwent CO2 laser surgery after previous treatments, including steroids and cyclosporin, provided only temporary relief. The surgery, performed on the front paws first and the hind paws 4 weeks later, used 6-10 watts in continuous wave mode. Histopathological examination showed chronic inflammation and changes in hair follicles and glands. Post-surgery care involved Betadine-soaked bandages changed every 2 days, leading to complete healing within 4 weeks.
