This literature review explored the psychological impact of breast cancer on patients and their support networks, emphasizing the need for a multi-factorial management approach from screening to remission. It highlighted the emotional challenges patients face, such as fear, depression, and anxiety, particularly during diagnosis and treatment stages, which can include side effects like pain, sexual dysfunction, and alopecia. The review analyzed studies from PubMed, identifying areas in clinical practice that could be optimized to provide better psychological support, ultimately aiming to enhance patients' quality of life by promoting awareness and implementation of support systems by healthcare professionals.
