    Dracaena trifasciata, commonly known as mother-in-law's tongue, is a perennial herb native to tropical West Africa and is popular as a decorative plant. Traditionally, its leaves and rhizomes are used for their analgesic and antipyretic properties and to treat various conditions such as acne, fungal infections, skin itches, allergies, ulcers, helminths, earaches, pharyngitis, and urinary illnesses. This review explores the plant's botany, traditional uses, pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, and pharmacology, highlighting its multifaceted applications.
