TLDR Dutasteride injections may be a future option for treating hair loss.
The document discussed the emergence of new therapeutic approaches for managing androgenetic alopecia (AGA), highlighting the use of topical finasteride, oral minoxidil, and particularly the intradermal application of dutasteride. A clinical trial conducted by Abdallah et al. in 2009 evaluated the efficacy and safety of 0.05% dutasteride solution injections in male AGA patients. In this study, 28 patients participated, with 14 receiving a total of 7 sessions. This represented a shift in treatment paradigms for AGA.
